Library Foundation Donates New Technology to San Bernardino Public LibraryThe San Bernardino City Library Foundation donated $80,000 to purchase four self-check machines, one for each library, to the San Bernardino Public Library. Mayor Pat Morris checked out the first book, Thursday June 4.Library patrons can use the self-check machines to check out books whenever the library is open. According to Millicent Price, Acting Library Director, "The self-check machines will be especially helpful when there are long lines at the circulation desk. We are thrilled with the Foundation's gift at a time when our library system has been devastated by budget cuts. This gift helps us help library patrons by keeping up with new technology." The Foundation is a non-profit, tax exempt corporation and is an independent fund-raising entity. Donations to the Library Foundation are tax deductible.
