THE STORY OF BEAR'S DEN

I was born in Holland in 1948 in the beautiful city of Den Haag. That is where I was introduced to my very first Bouvier, Bubbles. Bubbles was big, black, and hairy. He lived up to his reputation as defender of the house, kisser of small children (me), and fearless attack dog--for any dog his size or larger. My father tells me that their daily walks were always an adventure.

My father's travels brought us to Canada in 1956 to Calgary, Alberta. Daddy wanted a Bouvier then, but none could be found. I grew up in a household where we always had animals, but no Bouviers.

Through a long and interesting journey in 1985, I moved to Southern California, with absolutely no thought of Bouviers on my mind. I lived at the beach, got a great tan and had a cat called Kitty T. I was single and fancy free. I started a little business, which became successful enough to allow me to have a few vacations! In 1990, I met Ken. Now, this was the beginning of many unanticipated changes in my life. Ken was from San Fernando Valley--I lived at the beach.

Through some serious talking on his behalf, he somehow convinced me to move to the San Fernando Valley in 1991. Now, I lived in a house, not a condominium. My cat collection grew with Kitty T still head cat.
